Day One: "Wait, what time is your flight?"

That's how it started. Approximately 11:55 p.m. on Saturday night, I was finally home after a great day tailgating in Columbia and decided to start packing for my 6 a.m. flight to Atlanta. Christy took a few minutes to respond, and then I got this: "Omg...wait..."

Priceless. The week before I kept forgetting to ask why my ticket was for Sunday instead of Monday, like we had planned. Apparently that would have been a good thing to ask, considering the fact the she was fully intending on heading to the airport bright and early Monday morning. Getting the "Omg wait" text a bit sooner probably would have helped, but that's just not how things works with us. Way too easy. Christy threw some stuff in a bag and after about 45 minutes of sleep for each of us and a drowsy plane ride later, we reunited at the ATL airport.

We rode the MARTA out of the city to meet our wonderful host, 'Mr. Paul', father of the Roth family and longtime friend of the Millweards. He took us out to the horse barn where the girls ride and board their horses...it was by far the best version of a man-cave that I've ever seen! We managed to stay awake during lunch but then passed out for a few hours back at the Roth house. Of course we woke up just in time for a dinner on the patio filled with talk of life plans, Steve Jobs stories, and the real reason babies become boys.  :) It was great to chat with Addison, Michelle and Lou...and enjoy Addison's amazzzing chocolate chip cookies. Poor Mr. Paul was outnumbered by girls again, but we were glad to have him.

Feeling reenergized and ready to go with a new game plan, we settled down for the night after some much-needed blogging and a little Bridget Jones.

Day 2 update coming soon!!

Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company.

Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.
