My third blog, I can't believe it. This one is dedicated to my latest journey in journalism...4 months of reporting live for KOMU-8 News. My first shift was last night, actually this morning. I arrived at the station a little before 2 a.m., big coffee and cheerios in hand, nervous for my first live shot ever. I can't believe that I'm going on my fourth year at KOMU and I had never done a live shot before this morning. Now it's 12 hours later. I still haven't slept, but it's worth it. I had a great time, even though it's now been about 30 hours since I woke up last and I keep finding absolutely ridiculous spelling errors as I re-read sentences.
Reporting for KOMU News Today (4:30-7 a.m.) is an interesting challenge because it's all about showing people something. Like Randy told us yesterday...tell 'em where you are, why you're there, and the 3 things they should care about. I'm happy with what I did today, although I was definitely rusty after 3 months away from the station. It's going to be so fun to see where I can go with this. I'll save the details for my next post, I just wanted to say a quick welcome to my new story-sharing project. Thanks for reading! e
