This could get interesting. I now have less than a week in Norfolk. My mother is arriving tomorrow. My apartment is untouched. Scratch that, it's MESSY at the moment, so plenty of things are out of place, but none are in boxes. Yikes. I went to dinner for a friend's birthday last night (Happy 40th, Henry!!) and actually got a look of genuine disdain--bordering on disgust-- when I admitted this fact. It was awful. But today is a new day! To get myself in the packing mood, I did what every on-task person would do. I invented a recipe! Nothing crazy, and it was more out of necessity. I have almost no food but don't want to buy anything at this point. So I combined a few cups of frozen strawberries, blueberries, and some almond milk to make this tasty treat: And I'm telling myself it will give me the power to fill all of these with stuff. Not sure how this is going to go. Feel free to send good thoughts and prayers my way. If I don't snap out of it soon, I'll be making a face like this--clutching my personal belongings as my mother throws them in the back of a moving truck and drives away. Scary, I know. This is Table Rock Lake, circa 2004(ish). That's my older brother Adam, probably preparing to throw me off the tube as I scream for my father to please spare my life.
Alright, it's time to pack! Or maybe I'll go for a jog first...
